Waikite Station

Waikite Station is located in the Waikite Valley between Taupo and Rotorua and is home to one of the Focus Genetics Simmental Breeding Programmes and two terminal sheep programmes as well as a commercial cattle herd and sheep flock. Waikite has a total land area of 1,089 ha of which 1,013 ha is in productive pasture. The bulk of the property has easy to moderate contour.
Waikite Simmental’s are known for their good temperament and carcass ability in a terminal programme. The herd sits above the 10% percentile band for the breed on the Terminal Index and top 20% on the Maternal Index.
SIMMENTAL
The two Focus Simmental herds are synonymous with the Simmental breed. The herds have been at the forefront of developing Simmental since their inception in 1971 to suit the New Zealand beef industry needs.
Proven under commercial conditions to be the ultimate terminal sire it offers maximum growth and carcass weight potential when crossed with breeds such as Angus, Hereford, Fresian x Hereford, and Stabilizer® females.
